How it started
It started with a chair we couldn't find
When we were expecting our first child, we went looking for a rocking chair for the nursery. We wanted one thing: something we could feed our baby in at 3am, and still be happy to keep in the living room years later.
What we found was disappointing. Nursery chairs that looked like hospital furniture. Beautiful designer pieces that were never built for real comfort. Nothing that did both. So we decided to build it ourselves.
Swaywell is the result: rocking chairs made to be genuinely lived in, through the long nights and the quiet afternoons, that you'll want to keep long after the reason you bought them has grown up.

What guides us
What we stand for
Comfort that lasts
A rocking chair should feel as good on year five as on day one. We choose materials and builds made to hold their shape and their softness.
Beautiful, and built for real life
We refuse to choose between looks and comfort. Every chair has to earn its place in your home on both counts, not one or the other.
The art of slowing down
The sway isn't just movement. It calms, it soothes, it helps you rest. We believe in making space to slow down, and building the chair that invites it.
Made for your moment
Three collections, one idea
Whether you're rocking a newborn through the small hours, building a reading corner you'll never want to leave, or bringing the sway out onto the patio, there's a Swaywell made for it.
Nursing. Design. Outdoor. Each one built on the same belief: that slowing down should feel this good.

The people behind it
Behind Swaywell
Co-founder
John
John looks after the making of things: how each chair is built, how it holds up, how it feels to sit in for hours. If a chair doesn't pass his test for comfort and durability, it doesn't make it to Swaywell.
Co-founder
Fiona
Fiona shapes how Swaywell looks and feels, from the colours and fabrics to the little details that make a chair feel like yours. She chooses every piece with an eye for warmth as much as style.
